About

Research is how I
make sense of the world.

Remi Ibekwe at a UX research conference in Austin

I help product teams make better decisions by combining qualitative research, behavioral insights, and analytics, especially when the problem isn't clearly defined.

I started in Learning and Development, where I learned to notice how people take in information, where they get stuck, and what causes them to quietly disengage. That still shapes how I approach research today. I don't only listen for what people say. I pay attention to who may be missing, what the research setup may be making harder, and which assumptions the team has stopped questioning.

I'm drawn to the "wait, why is this happening?" moments, the confusion, hesitation, workaround, or person who is quietly being left out. Those moments usually point to something bigger.

How I approach research

Start before the method

I want to understand what decision the team is trying to make before deciding what research to run. The method follows the question, not the other way around.

Look beyond the loudest voices

The easiest participants to reach are not always the people most affected. I pay attention to who may be missing and what could prevent someone from participating fully.

Make the findings usable

I don't want research to end as a report people forget. I help teams understand what changed, why it matters, and what they can actually do next.

Beyond the brief

OOO

A latte with latte art on a black stitched placemat

Coffee order

  • Cortada on a normal day
  • Cold brew when I need to focus
  • Recently roasted my first batch of beans and now I have opinions

On rotation

Afrobeats, always. Good research has a rhythm too, listen, notice what changes, and know when something feels off.

Experience

Asurion

2022 – Present

UX Researcher, New Partner Growth

  • Lead research across enterprise partnerships and new product pilots, mostly in spaces where the team is still figuring out what they're building
  • Work across product, design, engineering, sales, and strategy, usually translating between all of them
  • Research contributed to a 25% increase in proposal acceptance; the more useful outcome was giving the team a shared way to talk about what partners actually needed

Asurion

2020 – 2022

Product Designer, Field App

  • Embedded research into the design process for an internal tool used by 1,000+ field techs
  • Ran usability testing and workflow research; helped cut task time by 30% and errors by 20%
  • Findings on inventory handling led to a redesign that reduced lost inventory by 18%

Mastercard (Client Project)

2021 – 2022

UX Researcher

  • Research on a B2B financial services portal used across international markets
